Heroin arrest made in Williamson

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Officers investigating a drug trafficking complaint in Williamson saw their work pay off, with an arrest and the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of drugs.

The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. 119 Drug Task Force went to the Elm Street residence of 37-year-old Israel Reddick, of Lorain County, Ohio.

Officers said they could detect a strong odor of marijuana and hear someone inside the residence, but no one answered when they knocked and announced announced their presence. Fearing evidence could be destroyed, police entered the residence where they found a mason jar containing marijuana and 1.78 ounces of heroin. 

The estimated street value of the Heroin is approximately $28,000. According to police, over $2,000 in cash was also found inside the apartment.

Reddick was arrested and lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden.
