VIRGIE, Ky. — Police searching for a man wanted for auto theft caught their suspect napping during an alleged burglary.

Saturday morning, police received a report that the car had been stolen by Bruce Williamson, 42, of Virgie. A search of the area proved fruitless, but 2-and-a-half hours later, police received another complaint against Williamson, this time that he had broken into a Virgie homeowner’s garage and then passed out inside.

Police found both Williamson and the stolen car when they arrived to check it out.

He was taken to jail on auto theft, burglary and other charges.
