BLACKEY, Ky. — The search for a missing Letcher County boy has turned into a death investigation, after his body was found Tuesday.
Kentucky State Police had been called Tuesday afternoon to Blackey over a report that 11-year-old Curtis Cash Halcomb was believed to be missing. But shortly after the search began, he was found in a creek, unresponsive. Life-saving measures were begun and he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Halcomb’s body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, but police say they do not suspect foul play at this time.
