
UPDATE, 9 p.m.: In an update on the case, Kentucky State Police announced that Jayden Spicer’s mother has been arrested in connection with her son’s death.
Felicia A. Gross, 33, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, evidence tampering, falsely reporting an incident, and two counts of witness tampering. She is being held in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
Trooper Matt Gayheart, public information officer for KSP Post 13, also thanked those who helped in the search for Jayden.
“I would like to take a moment to thank the many different organizations that assisted in the search efforts for Jayden,” Gayheart said. “All of the volunteers that spent numerous hours and days trying to locate him. Thank you to every person that sent tips or even shared a social media post. Thank you for the many prayers that were prayed, and we ask that you continue to pray for a community that grieves during this tragic loss.”
JACKSON, Ky. — The six-day search for a missing Breathitt County boy came to a tragic end Tuesday.
Ten-year-old Jayden Spicer disappeared from his home overnight last Wednesday.
Police and family members confirmed to the media this afternoon that his body was found today, in a shallow grave almost 20 miles his home.
The investigation into his disappearance and death is continuing.
